Summary:
System design and certification to ISO 9001:2000 (Quality Management Systems or QA) and AS/NZS 4801:2001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems or OHSMS)
Introduction to the organisation:
Campac Australia commenced operation early 2005 with Jonathan Pattinson as the Managing Director.
Campac build, hire and service portable buildings made from insulated panels. The result is a hard wearing, attractive and practical solution to office space and accommodation.
Some uses for the product include:
- Site offices
- Residences
- Portable toilets
- Site Cribs
- Storage
Case Study:
Mid February 2006, work commenced on documenting systems to ISO 9001:2000 (Quality Management Systems) and AS/NZS 4801:2001 (OHS Management Systems).
Work commenced with regular interviews with management scheduled over a period of 4 weeks. The purpose of these interviews was to record Campac's processes.
An integrated QA System / OHSMS was designed within 2 weeks of the completion of interviews.
Management were given a draft copy of the quality assurance and safety management system for review. Management took just under a week to review the completed documentation.
A final copy of the system was prepared and management were trained in the integrated quality assurance and safety management system.
As a management team, it was decided to push for QA certification earlier than we had previously planned.
The quality assurance and safety management system was implemented over the next few weeks with regular follow ups from Compliancehelp's QA consultant.
The day of certification arrived, 9 May 2006. A team of auditors from International Certifications Pty Ltd arrived to perform the audit. The results of the audit were as follows:
- Major Corrective Actions: 0
- Minor Corrective Actions: 0
2 and a half months after commencement of the process toward certification, Campac (Australia) were certified to ISO 9001:2000 and AS/NZS 4801:2001
Future certifications:
To ensure existing environmental management controls are maintained, Campac (Australia) have decided to seek certification to ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management Systems or EMS. Because of the ease of certification to the previous 2 management standards, certification to ISO 14001:2004 is expected approximately July 30 2006.

Campac (Australia) also uses Compliancehelp's expertise and qualifications as a Workplace Health & Safety Officer (WHSO). Duties include:
1. Workplace Assessments
2. Risk Assessments
3. Communication with external bodies (E.g. The Division of Workplace Health & Safety)
4. Attendance and contribution at Campac Safety Committee meetings
